Due to the critical nature of the work undertaken by WEC Machining, our inspection department operates a quality system accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 standards. Equipped with 2 CMM Machines and a wide variety of gages and callipers, our inspection room caters for the need of our busy machining department.

WFCS/ISO 3834

WEC Machining is accredited to WFCS/ISO 3834, independently verifying compliance with international welding quality requirements. This certification confirms our competence and gives customers confidence in consistent, high-quality products.

CAESAS/BS EN 1090

WEC Machining is accredited to CAESAS/BS EN 1090, independently verifying compliance with standards for steel and aluminium structures. This certification confirms our abilities while ensuring products meet legal requirements for CR & UKCA marking

Quality Standards and CMM Inspection Capability

Our quality standards are supported by a fully equipped inspection department featuring advanced coordinate measuring technology to ensure complete accuracy and consistency across every component we produce. We operate a range of high-precision systems including a Faro PowerGage, Etalon CMM, Micro Hite CMM and a DEA Global Advantage CNC CMM, giving us the capability to carry out detailed inspection work on components of varying sizes and complexities. These systems allow us to verify tight tolerances and ensure full dimensional compliance throughout the manufacturing process, forming a key part of our overall quality standards.

Our engineers are highly proficient in the latest CAD technologies, allowing seamless integration between design, machining and inspection. WEC Apprentice Academy

Apprenticeships are central to our long-term growth and our commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards in machining and precision engineering. Through the WEC Group Training Academy, the only facility of its kind in the UK, we are investing in the next generation of skilled engineers to ensure consistently high quality standards across every stage of manufacturing. As a member of the AWFTE (Association of Welding & Fabrication Training & Education) and a certified TWI (The Welding Institute) training centre, we are dedicated to developing highly competent engineers who understand and apply strict quality standards from day one.

Since 2006, over 200 apprentices have trained with us, gaining hands-on experience in real production environments. Our advanced five-year apprenticeships in CNC machining, welding, fabrication, and laser cutting and press brake operations are designed to build technical expertise while reinforcing discipline, accuracy and adherence to quality standards in machining and manufacturing processes.
